Tampa Bay RIA Long List

Since the Tampa Bay Regional Infrastructure Kickoff in August, the RIA Office has been diligently developing a comprehensive list of candidate projects for evaluation, which will ultimately be narrowed to a focused set of priorities for inclusion in the RIA report. This initial list of almost 100 projects was derived from adopted long-range transportation plans and informed by direct input from our public agency partners across Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties, with an emphasis on projects that are implementation-ready and well-suited for innovative financing strategies.

The following projects have been long listed for the Tampa Bay RIA:

  • Tampa International Airport to Downtown Tampa Premium Transit Connection
  • Westshore Intermodal Center
  • I-275 Managed Lanes
  • Alt US 19 Transit Corridor
  • Invision Streetcar Extension
  • HART Heavy Maintenance Facility
  • Tampa Arterial Bus Rapid Transit
  • I-75 Managed Lanes
  • US 301 Improvements

While many of the identified projects are located within Hillsborough County, they deliver meaningful mobility and economic benefits across the broader region, providing new opportunities and relief for residents of all three counties. We are sincerely appreciative of the time and expertise contributed by representatives from Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas Counties; the City of Tampa; the City of St. Petersburg; Tampa International Airport; the Tampa-Hillsborough Expressway Authority; HART; PSTA; and Port Tampa Bay. Their collaboration has been instrumental in shaping this list.

For agencies not currently represented with projects on the list, this reflects timing and project readiness considerations—not a lack of partnership or project merit.

We look forward to continuing robust stakeholder engagement throughout this process and to developing a clear, actionable implementation plan for these critical regional transportation priorities.
